The TikTok #lick Challenge Is Way Worse Than You Thought

Okay so I’ve been sick. Not with COVID but with something my doctors can’t diagnose. So I had a little free time during the days that I was at home being sick. So I tried TikTok. And I found a trend called the lick challenge. I am here to explain the reason this trend shouldn’t be a trend.

What is it?

If you don’t know what the lick challenge is, it’s basically kids in middle school and high school stealing anything they can get their hands on.

It’s Illegal

To put it simply, the lick challenge is illegal. You can face charges against vandalism or theft. The stuff these kids are stealing is horrendous. They steal school buses, toilets, sinks, pretty much anything they can steal. It’s theft. Especially considering that they are not the ones who have to pay for the stuff they steal. That’s the school’s job.

People Need The Stuff They Steal

Imagine for me if you will, you are sitting in class and all of a sudden you need to pee. You get to the bathroom only to see that there are no more toilet seats left and no more sinks left. “I guess I have to hold it.” You shouldn’t have to, it’s not your fault. But because some idiot kids destroyed the whole use for the restroom, the toilets. After school you have to go home. Your house is so far away from school, so you take the bus home. You wait and wait and wait. But the bus doesn’t come “must be running late,” you think. So you wait some more. It never comes. You get a text from your friend, a link to a TikTok video. You watch it and you see some kids stealing a school bus. Not just any school bus, the school bus that drops you off at home. Crap. You text your mom and dad to come pick you up and they do. That’s my point. Some people actually need the items that these kids steal.

It Requires Way To Much Commitment

Kids became plumbers because of this trend. They have to detach pipes from the wall and some how sneak it into their backpack. For nothing they post it on freaking TikTok and then they wonder how and why they got caught. No duh, you put it on TikTok for goodness sake. A platform with millions of users from around the world. And you really think you wouldn’t get caught. Really?! Like you can take a toilet and sink from the wall, but you wonder why you got caught. The irony.
